Petition is now with the California Secretary of State
Californians to Recall Gavin Newsom today announced that it has officially filed its petition to Recall Governor Gavin Newsom with the California Secretary of State. This action follows the August 5 filing of the Notice of Intention to Recall to the Governor and the publication of the Notice in Sacramento’s Daily Recorder last Friday.
“Gavin Newsom has responded to our Notice by failing to address the issues we raised. Instead, he engages in threatening and inflammatory rhetoric that seeks to divide Californians and inflame and incite his radical left-wing followers,” said Recall Committee chair Dr. James Veltmeyer of San Diego. “We are on an expedited timeline so we are submitting our Petition language today.”
Veltmeyer said it could take the Secretary of State several weeks to approve the Petition, but is hoping for approval by August 25 or ten days from now. “The people of California can’t afford to have this process delayed for political gamesmanship. The SOS needs to move forward on approving so that the voters of this state can have the final say on Newsom’s destructive policies.”
