Veltmeyer Recall Offers Best Opportunity to Qualify for Ballot
Dr. James D. Veltmeyer, chairman of Californians to Recall Gavin Newsom, is announcing today that the California Secretary of State has approved its petition to recall and remove Governor Newsom from office.
“We are pleased that the Secretary of State has finally approved our Petition for Recall. Now, the really hard work begins. We have 160 days to collect a minimum of 1.5 million signatures to force a new election. We are aiming to collect 2 million,” said Veltmeyer.
“We are launching the petition drive immediately. By Monday, we expect to have petitions in the hands of nearly one million California Republicans. We will be waging this campaign on all fronts: ground, digital, and paid signature-gathering. With Newsom’s statewide support at 39% and falling, the time is ripe to give the voters a chance to express their dissatisfaction and disgust with this Governor’s destructive policies. Policies that are turning the Golden State into a Third World country plagued by poverty, crime, homelessness, and disease.”
